BEHIND THE SCENES

STARDUST MEMORIES

AUTUMN / WINTER 2019

Roll up, roll up! Step inside the dazzling and spectacular world of Le cirque Tutu Du Monde!
Stardust Memories was inspired by the glamour and extravagance of yesteryear and the old-world magic and mystery of the circus. From the glittering costumes of high-flying acrobats, to the lush feathers and silks of showgirls atop their white horses. This collection gave us the opportunity to chase those childhood dreams of running away with the circus!

We wanted to create a fantastical cirque spectacular for the launch of Stardust Memories, and we’re giving you a little peek behind the velvet curtains on our Autumn/Winter 2019 shoot. Our set ‘Inside the Big Top’ took over a month to put together, using vintage-style props and theming to bring Le Cirque Tutu du Monde to life! Thirteen wonderful models pranced and posed amongst the silk ropes, hoops and ladders in their gloriously glamorous outfits.

How did Tutu Du Monde come to life?

Tutu du Monde began with my quest for a ‘ballerina dress’ for my own little daughter – a
then four-year-old fussy dresser! Faced with market offerings of uninspired and uninspiring
mass-produced, pink polyester, I instinctively drew on my own design aesthetic and
experience and decided to create my own tutus. Thus, the brand was born and formally
launched in 2009. What I initially considered a ‘side-project’ soon took over my life.

New accessories and headpieces have been created with vintage costuming and artistic spectacle in mind; the perfect additions to any outfit.

Stardust Memories perfectly evokes old world glamour, and budding ringmasters, acrobats, dancers and magicians will be whisked away to a land of make-believe dressing rooms, backstage frivolity and the suspense of waiting for the curtain to be raised…
