Tutu du Monde has been a conscious brand since its inception in 2009; each garment has embarked on a slow and considered journey from the design stage in Australia to production in India, always with quality and longevity in mind.
how the magic happens
With detailed beading work at the core of our designs, each style is hand-crafted by our highly skilled and gifted dedicated team of world-class artisans in India, using age-old traditional techniques.
The intricacies of our embellishments require slower production schedules, with a single tutu dress taking up to one hundred and twenty hours to produce, so it matters to us that each piece accurately represents the craftmanship and skill invested in bringing it to life. As such, our focus is not on producing as many items as possible, but on carefully and lovingly crafting garments that will stand the test of time, both in their classic originality, and in their quality.

The Tutu Du Monde magic doesn’t stop there, however. It’s our vision that the hours of work we passionately dedicate to creating each piece is just the beginning of its long and fruitful life. When a Tutu Du Monde piece leaves our hands, the love we’ve poured into creating it is a gift that will keep on giving, from the feeling of being special just by owning it, to the cherished childhood memories and special moments created while wearing it, time and time again.
We choose the finest quality fabrics, embellishments and creative techniques to ensure that our stunningly delicate-looking pieces are robust enough to be passed on to siblings, friends and relatives, spreading the pleasure and delight far and wide for years into the future, bringing joy to its first owner, and for many more children besides. The Tutu du Monde team is actively committed to continually researching, evaluating and implementing new methods which will lead us to a more ethical, transparent, and resourceful business. As well as developing strong working relationships with our teams in India, paying fair wages, and utilizing off-cuts to create beautiful accessories, we have made a conscious effort to eliminate plastic throughout our supply chain, by only using compostable materials for packaging and shipping.
We have also switched to FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified recycled material for our ‘new heavy duty’ storage boxes that are sturdy enough to keep treasures for years.
